Chartering and Insurance Enrollment

Chartering and insurance enrollment for the 2027 season is officially open through the Little League® Data Center. The Little League Data Center is the exclusive location for our leagues to join the program by enrolling their teams and choosing whether to enroll in the various insurance offerings available exclusively to affiliated Little League programs. As a reminder, only League Presidents, Vice Presidents, Treasurers, and Secretaries can complete the chartering and insurance enrollment process.

Resetting Background Checks

As a reminder, background checks reset for local leagues annually on October 1. Leagues operating Fall Ball/Training and Development Seasons are reminded that volunteers who completed a background check for the 2026 season do not need a new check starting on October 1. Any new volunteers must complete their background check prior to being appointed as a volunteer. If that background check is completed after October 1, your league may use that check for the 2027 season, as well.

Leagues are also required to follow all federal, state, local and municipal laws and ordinances, and administrative rules and regulations regarding background checks. Each local league is solely responsible for ensuring its required volunteers complete these steps annually, including all additional state and local law requirements.

Build Your Board, Build Your League

If you haven’t already, be sure to schedule your Annual Meeting of the Members, which is required to take place each year according to the local league’s constitution. The local league’s constitution outlines when the annual meeting will take place and what is required in it, which typically includes the election of your league’s Board of Directors for the upcoming season. Adapting these meetings as leagues prepare for the next Little League® season will be important to set you and your fellow volunteers up for success in the coming year
